Once you’ve chosen your itinerary and marked the dates on your calendar, it’s finally time to sign up for this great adventure.

Please take the time to carefully read all the instructions and information provided so that you don’t forget anything and can fully enjoy your experience. Every detail matters to ensure your hike becomes a unique opportunity for walking, reflection, and rejuvenation. Get ready to make the most of this adventure, at your own pace, safely, and with everything you need to enjoy every step of the way.

6 Tips for Hitting the Road with Kapoah:

Choose your itinerary and dates.

Book your accommodations: on your own.

Sign up as a Kapoah walker/pilgrim: Step 1 below.

Pay your registration fee ($5 CAD per person) and insurance ($10): Step 2, if you don’t have the pilgrim’s passport.

Pay only for liability insurance ($10 CAD per person): Step 3, if you already have the pilgrim’s passport.

You will receive your passport by mail, or at your point of departure if you live abroad.

When are the trails open?

Every year, the trails are open from^{May 1}through the end of October.

Please note, however, that the trails in the Saguenay and Charlevoix mountain ranges are only accessible from late June (when the snow has melted) until the second Monday in October (when the snow returns).

Ensure your peace of mind along the way

Each hiker/pilgrim is required to have adequate individual liability insurance coverage against any accidental damage caused in public places and accommodations, including those offered by Kapoah. Please complete Step 3 below.

Along with your registration fee ($5 CAD), an additional $10 CAD will be charged to help cover the mandatory Kapoah liability insurance, which protects you in the eventof an accident you are involved in or cause. This brings the total to $15 CAD. Complete Step 2 below.

If you use your passport for a second calendar year, you must pay only the second installment of the registration fee—$10 CAD—to be covered under the mandatory Kapoah liability insurance. Complete Step 3 below.
